One would have expected a near landslide win, at the very least, rather than the ultra-slim majority obtained in the elections. All this, after much effort at meeting the public, and chastising of the PNP's candidate. Social media has altered the dynamics that once governed politics, and as a result politicians have to be now prepared to compete in this new forum, as well as the more traditional ones.

The constituency organization from a PNP perspective was on autopilot due to a combination of factors, Least of which was the party's secretariat inability to confirm who will be their candidate. On the other hand, the JLP did not just name a candidate, but, one that established a constituency organization. The organization was doing house to house knock and talk, canvassing persons to get their views on the needs of their community, enumerating prospective voters and formulating electorial strategies. It was therefore to the credit of Damion that the PNP was not totally wiped out.
