I think that most people start off as more of attention seeking but when that phase has past, they calm down and do it for different reasons and most of the time don't want to be noticed. there is so many reasons why people do it some unknown!

there is no way you can say that self harm is non-addictive. Look around at all the people who try to quit. You can't.

i have been self harming for a while now and i find that once i start to cut myself i cannot stop i go all numb and do not care but i feel bad the next day and cover it up as if i have done something real bad which i knw i have.it is kind of addictin

self harm is addictive just like eating disorders, drink, smoking etc. are. We move from one to another when the first is gone. jason.xxx

It is hard to stop. When you think you have beat it, the abuse comes back and a lot worse than last time.
