Ampeg Bass Amps

I am 52 years old and have played bass guitar since 1967 and have used fender, yorkville, peavey, swr, carvin, crate, hartke, genz benz, gallen kruger, and many others. Ampeg is the best sound for me. I love it! My band loves it too.

bottom line

the svt classic 1972 i own ,still sounds great, and the sunn 300t tube amp as well..however can some one tell me if they are finding that the ampeg svt11 pro seems to have no power, i have two and they sound the same. the vintage head is much more powerful and super clean. i must add that dave is on key, if you don,t have the bucks for big price tube amps, go with sunn robo

I loveSunn bass amps. They're tops! Eden And SWR And Peavey are just so so. SVT is almost as good as the Sunn, but too expensive and sonically inflexible. Ric Haworth

peavy is for kids and fools. If you don't mind lugging it around, the Sunn 300T is the Holy Grail. Same final amp as the SVT, but with a much more useful preamp. Hybrid amps are okay, but tubes really get the girls! Get down. Ricardo7X

Peavey didn't receive enough votes in 2000 to stay on the amp heads poll in 2001!
