| Posted By: pete Posted On: Jul 18, 2004 Views: 2321 | the best weezer's album "Pinkerton" is the climax of weezer's genius. The blue one is great too, but it's a pity that weezer's music's getting worse and worse nowadays. |
| Posted By: TORRRRRIE Posted On: Feb 24, 2004 Views: 2480 | Comment on growth in Weezer's art you definitely hit the nail on the head when you said that art is all about growing...i have to admit that i used to be wierd when new albums of anyone would come out.. but you made me realize that art is all about growing... thank you.. |
| Posted By: lacy Posted On: Sep 4, 2003 Views: 2632 | pinkerton i'm a huge weezer fan. hell, i'm listening to them right now (island in the sun single, w/ oh, lisa and always). i love everything they've done, but pinkerton most of all. if i could only have one cd to listen to forever, it'd be pinkerton. the new stuff is great, but i really wish there was more pinkerton-sounding stuff. as long as they keep making beuatiful music, i'n happy. |
| Posted By: chris Posted On: May 12, 2003 Views: 1705 | how great is pinkerton? Really great. I see weezer as imperial and god like. anything they put out makes me feel great when i feel terrible. i can sing along to them as many times as i can watch the old simpsons episodes. i hope they come out with a new album every 10 minutes. |
| Posted By: jaykonon lnotwo Posted On: Oct 10, 2002 Views: 1737 | General Weezer comments I think its important to keep in mind that music, being a direct recreation of the artists consciousness (and subconsciousness at times) has the same transitory nature as the former. In that respect, all this talk about going back to "old school" weezer is really just a bunch of bull****. Of course I love the Blue Album and Pinkerton and Green and Maladroit, but I don't want Weezer to keep making Blue and Pinkerton for the rest of their lives. I think its funny that someone mentioned the white album, because my response to such retro-wishing has always been that the Beatles only put out one White Album. My point is, if you want Weezer to progress as artists, you and I are gonna have to accept the fact that they are going to change styles and put out albums that sound different. Thats what art is all about, growing, et cetera. By the way, no one is a bigger Weezer fan than me, no one. |
| Posted By: AntiSexy Posted On: May 14, 2002 Views: 1747 | moo My opinion on Pinkerton is it's so good that it makes the blue and green album (and what little bit I've heard of the new one, maladriot, or however it's spelled) look bad.... And you never hear all that much about Pinkerton. I wasn't a really huge weezer fan, I had the blue and green albums, and I liked them, but I wasn't totally tripped out on them, and then I saw Pinkerton in a music store, and got it just cause it was so weird-- a weezer album that appearantly no one knows about.... Now it's my favorite CD of all time.... I can (and have) listen to it fifty million times in a row and not get tired of it. But I kinda aggree with what that one dude said... Maladroit and the Green album are okay, but they're not even half as good as the blue album and pinkerton... they really should go back to old school weezer |
| Posted By: Pale Female Posted On: Mar 13, 2002 Views: 1743 | Pinkerton, etc. OK, OK, I will give Pinkerton credit, but IMO, the only songs that kept it from falling into the flaming abyss would be 'The Good Life', 'Pink Triangle', and 'Why Bother?'. This also applies to the Green album with 'Hashpipe', 'Island in the Sun', and 'Photograph'. Personally, I think that the Blue album whomps both of them, regardless of the fact that I love all three. |
| Posted By: muk Posted On: Dec 23, 2001 Views: 1708 | pinkerton yea man...pinkerton rocks. it's one of my fav albums ever, up there with the white album (notice how i dont mention the green album). anyway, rivers, you're amazing, the green album sucks, go back to old school weezer man. yea. |
| Posted By: Tim Quinn Posted On: Oct 9, 2001 Views: 1767 | Pinkerton! I have heard every song listed on this website and just about any Weezer you can imagine and I still come back and listen to good ol' Pinkerton. I was unimpressed by the Green Album, and agree with other die-hard weezer fans that Pinkerton, as strange or whatever other complaints people have as it is, is truly a pleasure to listen to - it is genius music and poetry. Thank you Rivers. -tim |
