It would also be much less time consuming; you wouldnt have to recode trillian for specific OS's |

I suck, is't not useable... C/C++ is useable on all platforms, if platfrom depening codes/API isn't use! All you have to do, is compiling it on the platform you need, maybe som SMALL modification is need, but if the coding is don the right way... the modification is realy SMALL or none at all, too make it run on the platform you want! |

Java is a bit slow but if ur making a program like trillian it wont matter. Also recompiling c++ in different OS's will take some time due to different header files, which then means different forms of sytax. |

There is an Java OS, and for some crazy reason its called Java OS, who would think. Also if Trillian reprogramed trillian in Java then they would never have to rewrite the program in any other OS, they could just compile it and itd be done. Plus trillian isnt even talking about porting it for a Java OS, they are talking about porting it to Java so that it can easily be recompilerd for other OS's! |
