However, in this case, this poor individual must not be familiar with contractions. Which, in my perosnal opinion, is even more elementary thank merely learning to spell. With that said, I beleive that not being capable of understanding the difference between "your" and "you're" (or you ARE) is undeniably STUPID. It's amazing that this person had the audacity to call anyone stupid. Furthermore to help illustrate the point: Clearly I am a smoker and have been for sometime. I am sure that there are millions that share my same story, but just to help this poor fool. I am a rather successful business person and hold several professional license. So obviously I must have a life. I will have to admit my usage has dropped significantly since college. But, again to help demonstrate my point. While "high" and in college I made the Dean's List every semester and graduated in the top of my class. So before you think you're jumping on the high ground calling people out: you better make damn sure you know what you're talking about. Good luck and I agree, maybe a joint or two would help you focus a bit more on your grammer. Hopefully, through this reply, I have helped you understand the proper uses of both your and you're. |
