Baby boomer burnout idiots

Despite the findings of numerous scientific studies to the contrary, some retards in our society still hold the perception that marijuana is a harmless diversion. A recent study, released last week by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, further debunks that notion with evidence that the potency of marijuana has nearly doubled in the past decade.

Research done at the University of Mississippi’s Potency Monitoring Project shows that today’s marijuana has the highest levels of tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive ingredient in weed, ever found since scientific analysis of the drug began in the late 1970s.

Whereas the average marijuana sample tested in 1986 had a THC concentration of less then 3 percent and drugs tested in 1997 had only a level of roughly 5 percent, samples tested in 2007 contain an all-time record amount of the chemical, at 9.6 percent. The most potent sample processed in 2007 fielded a staggering THC concentration of 37.2 percent.

“Baby boomer parents who still think marijuana is a harmless substance need to look at the facts,” said John Walters, director of National Drug Control Policy. “Marijuana potency has grown steeply over the past decade, with serious implications in particular for young people, who may be not only at increased risk for various psychological conditions, cognitive deficits and respiratory problems, but are also at a significantly higher risk for developing dependence on other drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, than are non-smokers.”

Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the country. A study conducted in 2006, the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, found that 14.8 million Americans over the age of 12 used weed at least once during the month prior to being surveyed.

Studies have shown that the drug’s adverse effect on brain functions, including difficulties learning and loss of memory, can last for days or weeks after the acute effects of the drug wear off. Chronic use of marijuana has been positively linked to increased occurrences of depression, suicidal tenancies and schizophrenia — ironic since users typically turn to marijuana to alleviate feelings of depression.

Marijuana has been found to increase heart rate and blood pressure while reducing blood’s capacity to carry oxygen. One health study determined that a user’s risk of heart attack more than quadruples in the first hour after smoking marijuana.

The school’s monitoring project has been analyzing drug samples since 1975. Since then, the program has compiled data on 62,797 cannabis samples, 1,302 hashish samples and 465 hash oil samples from 48 states.

RE: Baby boomer burnout idiots

Why do Baby Boomers suck? Let me count the ways! First you have the feeling of entitlement where everyone thinks they deserves to eat their cake and then a slice of the guy’s too. Second is politics—everything is red or blue, Republican or Democrat, Left of Right and it doesn’t matter what’s right anymore. Third is the corporate system in which millions of us have been shuffled in to and used and abused while our Baby Boomer managers make all the money. The list goes on and on.
