And, I have so much stuff I have to say about John Lennon that I can't list all the things. He had been and still is a big inspiration to me with his life and music. He has lots of good solos (Imagine, Instant Karma, Scared), but I also like his songs with the Beatles. Even though he did not sung lead vocals on all of them. My favorite by him would have been Yesterday, but Paul McCartney was the lead singer and the Rolling Stones sung As Tears Go By as one of their counterparts, and I like that better than Yesterday. But, my favorite by him has got to be: Twist and Shout. Even though I also like the Rolling Stones' Get off of My Cloud, their counterpart to Twist and Shout. But, what is your favorite? |

"get off my cloud" was actually a stones song, while "Twist and Shout" was a cover. John probably had SOME input on the song, but yesterday was REALLY Pauls. Don't get me wrong, John is my favorite musician of all time... He's amazing, you just ned your facts right. He did write some AMAZING music. About half of "a day in the life," "my life," "imagine," "love" etc... TTYL ~Andy |

That was completely Paul's; wrote, played, sung. I love John's music too, but we must differentiate between John's, John and Paul's, and just Paul's even though all of their music was "Lennon-McCartney". Although they both decided from the get-go to title their songs that way, we still must give credit where credit is due. |

Mostly every beatles song that john lennon sang lead vocals in was my favorite. I started listening to johns solo albums and really liked them, so i listen to johns solo music alot more now. |

My favorite one, with The Beatles is "If I fell" such a simple song wich contains really nice touching melody, and my favorite solo song is "Woman", in this song he just wrote the exact meaning of women...the most beautiful creature on Earth, enjoy Lennon's music and remember, Love is flower, you just gotta let it grow! |

This is the result of his anger against Paul because of the Beatles' battle for the control of their business, Paul wanted Eastman and John and the rest wanted Klein to take control. But still, you can tell Lennon was the better writer. Just look at Lennon's solo career vs. Pauls there's no comparison. "The only thing you did was Yesterday." - John Lennon Lennon later apologized for this song after things cooled down, but I think there's a lot of truth in the song. i.e. Lennon was the real song writer. |

But what I have learnt about the Bealtes were that Paul McCartney had the ability to compose very well but it was John who wrote most of the beautiful lyrics. For all those who haven't heard about the best solos of Lennon, I recommend you to listen to Yoko's latest album on John, "A working class hero". Just compare it with Paul's albums.. ;) You can see how good Lennon was! |
