McCartney is a genious musician. In 2000, he conducted a classical music show (The album was "McCartney - Working Classical") with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. But John's songs were simple and nice. Especially if you go through John's and Paul's sheet music, you can clearly see that John's music are really easy to play. But, Paul's Beatles songs were really difficult to play. Thx |

Why are you saying that John's music were easy to play? how about the opening guitar chord of "A HARD DAYS NIGHT"? that's a world-famous very difficult guitar chord wrote by John and George. Also, how'bout John's solo #9 Dream? Marand, you don't have any bases for your arguments! |

I never got the honor to meet him but it would have been the most important day in my life besides the birth of my son. Every time I listen to his music I cry. Poor Yoko. John or Paul I definately think John was awesome, very probably the most talented Beatle; but, I don't think we have to minimize Paul's work to give John a good place! Paul has also great compositions, beautiful music, as well as John. The thing is that John's talent went far beyond music, that's why he's the best! So please don't talk about Mr. McCartney's work as if it never worked, because 'to be the best you have to beat the best'... so if McCartney is AWESOME just "imagine" how sublime John' work must be he's just incredible. |

As you can see from the name I was actually named after The Beatles track "Michelle" which was a Paul song ... but my heart belongs to John. John was the most talented songwriter of his generation, my generation and this generation ... I have 5 children, 2 of which are teenagers and I'm proud to say I hear them playing Lennon on a regular basis ... never Paul ... why? Because he's so "commercial" ... because we can never forgive him for that vile FROG song, or the hideous "Give My Regards to Broadstreet" which I had to sit through many times as my best friend was a Paul fan (I still have nightmares!). Not to diss Paul completely he was written the odd classic ... My Love ... Here Today ... and many of his Beatle songs are nearing perfection ... together John and Paul were unbeatable apart John was the stronger songwriter standing by his values ... Paul has always been commercial lets face it you listen to an album and even without hearing lead vocals you know who wrote it ... the songs with depth, that make you think are John, the songs that are light and airy are Paul ... it's just the way they were ... thank god they came together; without them our lives would be a sadder place ... My loyalties have never lain with Mr. McCartney, sometimes he makes me mad or cringe ... I really can't be doing with "the head bobbing thing" that he does that was quite cute back in the 60's, but now that he's in his 60's makes me nauseaous!!! Bless him though without him I'd've probably been called Enid or Mabel or something ... long live The Beatles ... love and peace to John x |
