Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Call it a hunch, but it seems to me that the only thing that Hasbro has improved upon here is their profit margin. These figures are most likly cheaper to make. (Or at least they appaer to be.)

Finally in 2000 they start to bring back 3 3/4 joes, now in 2001 people are buying more and more of them, to the point that they tend to sell out on a regular basis here in NYC. So whats up?

If i was to comment on what i think about the new gijoe's, I'd just copy your letter word for word. As I'v been a collector from 1982,But after 2001 i'm sad to say it's over for me and Gijoe as i am not impressed with the dealth of the O ring

I agree. I think they messed up the guys. If they're making new bodies, why not make new weapons too? They don't look right.

The old Joe design was obsolete. Those dang O rings were unpredictable; I have some old Joes from the mid eighties who are still holding up and some who's O rings snapped a week out of the package. It's about time GI Joe caught up with the rest of the toy world in constructing more durable figures with better sculpting.

I like the new sculpts. Duke was a disappointment, though. To some degree, so was snake eyes. As far as the o-ring, I was glad to see it go and now disappointed about its return. There's nothing like your son asking you about your G.I. Joe collection and when you get them out to show him, half of your collection is in pieces cause the damn o-ring rotted over the years. I agree that the new sculpts should have new weapons and accessories. Let's hope its just a slow restart to the series, good start so far all things considered.

Gents-

I agree that the o-ring is a pain in the ass, but, they are very very easily replaced. Just go to your hardware store and get a size 9 ring, and unscrew your joe's back.

Although, I was disappointed with the intial new joes, the pics of the upcomming ones look cool- esp Flint, Beach Head and Stalker.

Go to www.yojoe.com to check them out.
