Each state was different. I think any state should have several options: 1) continue with the current black and white sign; 2) return to any US highway sign design that it used in the past (Florida could reinstate the rainbow); or 3) this new design: red for north-south (i.e. odd-numbered) routes and blue for east-west (even-numbered) routes. The shield could use the color as Florida did, or the black background on the current signs could be replaced by the color. |
