Disco 2

One reason only because it's totally crap for them otherwise it would be Release.

RE: Disco 2

A sensitive point here is, the recording was credited directly to the Pet Shop Boys when in fact this has more of other producers and DJs than the Pet Shop Boys themselves, so I might consider it more as a sort of remix-tribute made by other people, I think that all this was propitiated by the same Pet Shop Boys that in the Very era looked for many DJs to remake (or better to say decompose) their own songs. In some parts however, the non-stop is very good. I would NOT consider it totally crap. Historically, none of the Pet Shop Boys albums have ever been considered that way, and that goes for Release as well.

RE: Disco 2

Aside from the two truncated remixes of Yesterday When I Was Mad (which, in my opinion, most definitely are not bad remixes), Disco 2 deserves 100% of its reputation.

If Neil and Chris had compiled the "album" themselves, I'd have voted for it on this poll. ;]

RE: Disco 2

Same here. Voted for Disco 2 because it is horrible. Otherwise I would had chosen Release because of the shock.

RE: Disco 2

My point exactly Richmond Release for shock value Disco 2 because it is nowhere near to what we expect from them as we expect quality from quality.

RE: Disco 2

Mike I would love a non stop album of Pet Shop Boys tracks as itwould be played every day as it is the quality we come to expect of such genius but I can see where you come from with what you say but still sadly comes their name and is a massive blot on an otherwise impeccible career.

RE: Disco 2

I think the So Hard Remix there is not bad, although I recognize that truncated remixes were never good. But let's face it another way, as I said, the Very years were the most daring and experimental in PSB's career (we can see the contrasting comments about Very and Relentless), so Disco 2 was also consequence of that.
