ASAB

1) should ethiopia go to war for asab or accept her current status as a land locked country and perhaps avoid war?
2) are there other negative consequences other than the obvious, should ethiopia go to war (a lengthy one) with eritrea.
3) can ethiopia achieve her objective (which is controlling asab) at the end.
4) is there another means (other than force) for ethiopia to acquire asab "today".

RE: RE: RE: ASAB

i think we should try to avoid war and focus on the relation with djibouti for the better of our maritime systems. assab is not ours and we have to get over with it and accept.

RE: RE: ASAB

Life would have been easier, if the energy is focused toward rebuilding the already devastated country and people. For Asab is Eritrea and will remain Eritrea forever. It is time to stop chasing your neurotic dreams (fixation). If Ethiopia is desprate for sea as you make it to be, then go annex Djibuti that is the Ethiopian style ( habit)

RE: ASAB

there is no such thing as the ethiopian way.....we never did it with somalia and now eritrea(so that is not our habit). let us focus on our major resource and product such as leather and coffee than trying to cause more problem.this is the 21st century man.

RE: ASAB

Dear Kahssay,

I did gather from the tone of your reply that you don’t qualify to give any suggestion about Ethiopia and Ethiopian matter !
Just for the record, we don’t have any habit of wagging war but this true in your case and it is a very recent history, let me borrow your prefered word HABIT, of Eritrea provoking next-door neighbours (Yemen, Sudan, Djibouti and Ethiopia) wagging war and being defeated. One prominant rporter tried to define the Eritrea situation at the height of Ethio-Eritrea war as, “ Eritrea and Eritreans Do suffer from small man’s syndrome!”
For the time being you got what you sought, and we Ethiopian have got a paramount task of excelling our beloved country full heartedly with out parasite(Eritrea)distract.
Let me beg you on the behalf of Ethiopia and Ethiopian, Please get the message, we want neither your Asseb nor the so called disputed scrap arid patch of land.
Learn to stand on your ownfoot,
G o o d L u c k!!!!

RE: ASAB

Dear Hasabu...
I don't know why you got exited, I must have gotten under your skin. For your information...The subject matter is not weither or not Asab invades Ethiopia, it is the other way around..."should Ethiopia invade Asab or accept being land locked" so this makes it my business to talk about Ethiopia.
Now let's get some of facts straight...
1. By now the whole world knows ( except you ) that Eritrea won the war with Ethiopia and acheived its independence. Not only did it leberate its people from the most barbaric rule of Mengustu, it also liberated the people of Ethiopia, therefore; please show some respect.
2. There have never been a single bullet fired between Eritrea and Djibuti or Eritrea and Sudan, therefore; you cannot say that Djibuti won or Erirea lost...and same for Sudan Vs Eritrea. As for Yemen and Eritrea, please don't forget to mention the involvement of Ethiopian air force that took off from Debre Zeit air base to chase away the Yemeni's helicopters...I just want to throw that in, so credit can go to where credit is due.
3. As for Ethiopia, I have no ill wish. Just leave Eritrea alone.
