I don't believe it!

Billboard Magazine Chart History shows that Domino Dancing peaked at number 18 and stayed on the top 100 for 14 weeks. Love Comes Quickly peaked at 62 and stayed in the top 100 for only 8 weeks. Despite the video not getting heavy rotation on MTV, Domino Dancing was a success, in terms of USA chart position and length of time on the charts! I am thrilled that Chris & Neil have said they enjoy the freedom not to aim toward a number one. They remain Number One for me and they've continued to grow their fan base internationally year after year!
The top 10 in USA chart positions are almost all appealing to the lowest common denominator. I love that they aim high, not low!!!

RE: I don't believe it!

I've never said that DD wasn't a singles chart success. It was simply their final major mainstream singles chart success in the U.S.

Thanks!

RE: I don't believe it!

Not everything is to do with obvious reasons. Maybe other music was more important than something like this.

RE: I don't believe it! Queen, Elton John, Bowie

I don't believe it was the "homo-erotic" nature of the Domino Dancing video. Elton John & Queen were scoring very high in the charts, so was David Bowie. As I stated in my original posting, the single after DD was Love Comes Quickly which was the first of several PSB's singles that failed to chart higher than 62 in the USA charts. (I did my research, not based on emotion). Love Comes Quickly and the following couple of their singles lacked the bravado typical of USA chart hits. It wasn't until 1993's Go West did PSB have an obvious choice of a single for the US audience, but it was four years since their drop-off with Love Comes Quickly and programers forgot about PSB. LCQ and the other singles that followed are some of my favorite songs, but far from what typically charts in the US. How many times have you talked about a new PSB album and gotten a response from US citizens: "Wow, I didn't know they were still around!" And you respond: "Not only are they still around but they are doing great shows and are putting out great albums and singles year after year!"
