Not so similar?

As much as I love both these duos, I have discovered that for the most part my listening "moods" are distinctly Erasure OR Pet Shop Boys. I can't really listen to them side by side, as I feel Tennant-Lowe generally write "deeper" material with more art/substance, and Clarke-Bell write simple, but incredibly (at least for me) infectious songs. So basically:
PSB = breadth/depth both musically and lyrically. Erasure = fun and catchy synthpop
I know not everyone is a fan of both, but I'm curious to hear what others think!

RE: Not so similar?

Generally, I would agree, although there are exceptions, eg PSB often do fun, catchy synthpop (eg I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing) whereas Erasure sometimes go 'deep' musically/lyrically (eg Ship of Fools, The Circus)

I wonder what they share.
