dolphin's life greater that human's

Animal rights activist never stop amazing me. My question it if an animal rights activist could offer their life in exchange for a animal, would they? The answer they would give is yes, but I am certain that if they actually had to give up thier life they would chicken out. So, if that is the case, why would they want to sacrafic someone elses life. What I mean by that is, if we can use dolphins to save innocent lives, why would anyone not want to do this? Let's get our priorities straight people.

I think you are missing the point here. I don't think the issue is about whose life is greater--by the same token, would you sacrifice your life for your own child versus a complete stranger? When you start to qualify life like that, you avoid the argument which is actually that this is a life at all worth defending. When we treat animals as though they aren't living things worthy of defending, we also tend to harden ourselves and become crueler, even with other homo sapiens--"the superior species". Is that worth it in the long run?

Wow.
Does this mean that humans are the only life force worthy of treating well? What does it do to the human soul to treat those they have "dominion" over shoddily?
I don't even know what else to say to this because my world view is so different.

Hey D...Wayne...how about this...

Learn how to speak the english language correctly before you start spouting your heartless opinions!!

Figures...what grade did you graduate from? I am sure any dolphin would be smarter than you.

RE: My Children vs. a Dolphin?

I have four children.
If you put one of them up against a dolphin's life... which do you think I would chose?
I am sorry, but I would have to chose my child.
I would have to say that many parents have their sons and daughters in war that would agree 100%.

Which would you rather see come off that plane when it hits American soil from Iraq?
Your son or a dolphin.

I feel our military should be praised in the fact they are trying to find options to save American lives.

God saved an entire family on the Ark...
He saved two of each animal...a male and a female.

The dolphins will survive... there will be many.

I have only four children... and they cannot be replaced.

I am thankful other parents are not having to make choices between their children and dolphins.

Frankly, I would lay down my life for one of my children, but do not ask me to lay down my life for a dolphin.

God Bless America.

Jan

Dolphin Sperm bank.... still a great idea.
They have one for the soldiers that went to war...

Jan you need to read a bible, or the Torah, or Quaran (sorry if i mispell this), or any other religious text, you will find that most major religions believe they have souls. so read before you speak

RE: RE: dolphin's life greater that human's

I am a born again Christian and all that I have said is true to heart. I am not bothered by any comments here. I am familiar with the Holy Bible and I am not interested in other versions the world has to offer. I am seeking no other truths.

I love my family and I am solid on my beliefs.

Quite frankly, I do not believe there will be dolphins in heaven, so I am not sure what belief you are concentrating on...

I cannot believe I am involved in this dialogue.

I reread all that I have shared thus far and I will not waiver.

Sincerely,

Jan

RE: dolphin's life greater that human's

JSohn, I do not understand how we are treating the dolphins as if they are not living things. We are treating them just as well, and in some cases better, than we are treating our own soldiers. The dolphins are in less danger and they have more choice.

Also, you asked "would you sacrifice your life for your own child versus a complete stranger?". And my answer is that depends. For my child, yes. For a stranger? If it is the right thing to do, absolutely. It does not matter whether you know someone or you dont know them. If it is the right thing to do, then you do it. That is why we are in Iraq right now, because our soldiers believe that it is the righ thing to do to sacrefice their lives for a stranger. They aren't doing it because they want to die, they are doing it because they belive in freeing the people and neutralizing terrorism. And your right that some people may not do something because it is right, and those, in my experience, are mostly the same people who are protesting the war. And they do things because it will make people like them or because it will make them famous. Nothing can replace what occurs when people do what is right.
