| Posted By: PERRY T SMITH Posted On: Aug 4, 2002 Views: 512 | BODY OF CHRIST In John ch. 17, The Lord Jesus prayed that we would be one, even as he and the father were (and are) one, yet from the time of that prayer until now, the church that Jesus started has grown from a group of common believers, into who knows how many different denominations, with many different beliefs, style of worship, style of music, pentecostal, evangelical, liturgical, mainline. and so on. We are so divided, yet, this should not be, why has this happened? |
| Posted By: jen Posted On: Sep 5, 2002 Views: 471 | RE: BODY OF CHRIST free will, my brother, free will. Just because Jesus prayed for it to happen, doesnt mean that all the work is done. We have the job of getting out there and doing the leg work. If we dont show them the signs, wonders, and miracles that are supposed to follow us, than they will take their free will, and follow it far from Christ. It's like tasting something new. If it looks bad, smells bad, etc, than we think it's going to taste bad. We have to give them the sweet smells, and by our faith show them that it is good, then they will taste.... and see that the Lord is good. Once they know the truth, they cannot depart from it. |
