Playstation is the best

I think that even if Snes has more rpg's out there, Playstation has better quality ones

RE: Playstation is the best

When you refer to better quality, you are I assume, referring to technical aspects like graphics, sound, and length of game, all of which were obviously improved due to the superior engine of the Playstation. However, I still think that things like plot, battle sequences, characters, and general fun level are still superior on the SNES.

RE: RE: Playstation is the best

Dan: By any chance, were you unable to read during the SNES era? Or perhaps you only played Valkyrie Profile and FF7 on PSX and only FFMQ on SNES?
I'll admit, though, that PLaystation did have better 2D graphics and FMVs than SNES, even if it is inferior in every other category.

RE: RE: Playstation is the best

Stonerocker: By now, PlayStation has more RPGs. Many are very good, but many more are mediocre at best.

Cless: I agree, fun factor was best on SNES (for the most part; exceptions do exist). However, many PSX RPGs had incredible plots. I think that as a whole, PSX and SNES are fairly equal in terms of plots and characters.

Dan: You have a point: It's not just about the graphics.

and Kefka: There is no call for that kind of accusation. It's just plain mean (of course, what do I expect from such a psychotic character?)

In summary, I think that SNES wins by a very small margin, just based on the fact that the Seven Pillars of SNES RPG-dom (yes, I just made that up), namely FFIV-VI, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, and Legend of Zelda: LTP are among my favorite games ever made (not that many PSX RPGs are not also among my favorites) and simply induce more fond memories and nostalgia and, ultimately, were more fun to play than most.
