| Posted By: Andrew Posted On: May 11, 2002 Views: 433 | Where is Bergonzi? One of my favorite tenors and one that I feel should have been on the list is Carlo Bergonzi. I'm not saying he should be #1, but he certainly belongs in the Top 10. True, his career has had its share of ups and downs (his 1965 Chenier in Zurich, or even his recent concert Otello) and he may have lacked the squillo of Martinelli (where was he?) and the volume of del Monaco, but his style was impeccable and one only needs to listen to his Riccardo or Radames to find out why he should have been included on this list. |
