Now think of the time gap of a man on the moon and a man on mars. Why is it taking so long? With technology speeding up, we should of put someone on Mars by now! Man on the Moon is definately a hoax! |

What is the connection between the US government deciding not to continue spending colossal sums of money on space development at a time when thousands of troops were being killed in Vietnam, and the Moon landings being a hoax?????? Why should not keeping that extreme momentum going - that was shown in the race to the Moon - going for a Mars landing, have anything to do with the Moon landings being a hoax?????? You need to consider not only the technology, but also budget restraints, the power of the voter, politics, the publics hatred of war, and Nixon not wanting to continue a success story started by Kennedy. Technology has nothing to do with our going to the Mars, except for one thing. It is safer and cheaper to send probes, and we have been doing that almost non-stop since the Moon landings. All obvious stuff when you stop and think about it. Pity you hoax believers dont think, you are too quick to mindlessly jump on any silly excuse you can dream up. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A CHANGE! |

Man on the Moon is definately a hoax I agree with Keith, and besides, where the hell does Lindenburgh fit in? It should be the Wright Brothers, or if you're talking about flight, heck, we can go back to hot air balloons. That would make it considerably longer. 1969-1903 is 66 years, and 1969+66 is 2035. I think we'll at least have capability to go to Mars befor then. And what does Mars have to do with it? You think everything's organized into nice little plateus of scientific acheivement, and that we go there in a certain amount of time? It isn't. And in case you forgot - putting a man on the moon was a political thing. It was a must. Tensions b/w the US and Russia were pretty high. And they threatened to win over the space program - they already did several things first. They were planning to put a man there too. That would be a huge embarrasment to the US and their emerging space program, so they set a deadline and were determined to beat the Russians. From then on, we've established ourselves as the leader of the world in space technology. What good is landing someone on mars going to do? Unmanned probes do it faster, cheaper, and with less risk (unless someone forgets to convert pounds to newtons). Doing the research and setting down the determination would cost millions of dollars, if not more. And what would it accomplish? Very little in scientific value. We wouldn't know that much more about Mars than we do already. The political race to the moon established NASA's reputation and got them what they needed. Now their purpose is for scientific research. Europa has life on it? Maybe. Let's send a probe over to check. We don't know a lot about Titan. Brilliant! Let's send a probe. How about a probe to Pluto? Why not? These are neccesary to expand our understandings of the far solar system. The moon hoax believers have spread so much influence we're sending a probe to the moon to prove we did. That is absolutely unnecesary and is a waste of funding and money which could be spent on more research - say, Uranus's moons, for example. I'll admit that the "man on the moon" is fake - it's just the alignment of the maria - but Apollo and our lunar landings were most definitely real. |
