| Posted By: Keith Mayes Posted On: Jul 18, 2009 Views: 1790 | IMAGES SHOWING LANDERS ON THE MOON Finally, after 40 years, we can view new images of the Apollo landers on the lunar surface taken by the latest lunar orbiting satellite (see thread "CONFIRMATION OF LANDINGS BEGINS"). Admittedly the images do not show any great detail of the landing sites yet, but none the less could not be anything other than the landing sites, it is even possible to see a trail of footprints! Future images from this mission will show the landing sites at up to three times the current resolution as the orbiter gradually descends to a lower orbit, this should resolve the landers fairly clearly.
