Oh, for Nwn with DS's Graphics Engine!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE NWN, and am working on a mod with my mates, but I DO yearn for the amazing graphics, 0 load times, and awesome AI/Pathing routines of DS..

Everything NWN did wrong, DS does perfectly.
Everything DS lacks as an RPG, NWN excels at.

Hint: I bought DS when it came out, and played thru the whole thing, both worlds. Then I was done. No real desire to continue, or make my own mods.
I made it thru half of NWN, when I got bored of the adventure, and started working on my own mods. Now I've spent twice as much time in the NWN tootlset, that playing both games combined!

RE: Oh, for Nwn with DS's Graphics Engine!

I recently loaded up Dungeon Siege again and, oh my, I forgot how MUCH BETTER NEVERWINTER NIGHTS LOOKS combared to Dungeon Siege. DS metal doesn't look like metal. Character animations, well, suck. The characters themselves look pathetic.

As for the "no loading times", you'll notice that there aren't any open fields in Dungeon Siege. No matter where you go there is basically only two directions you can go: forward and back again. Some parts even stream the areas in a circle so if you head in one direction without diverting course (the desert in the multiplayer world) you'll eventually end up in the exact same spot... Without going through any other areas. It's just a trade off, that's all. Not really better.

Oh, and if you don't mind trees, bushes, monsters, or practically anything else not being able to block your path (like it does in NwN), then of course you won't have problems getting to where you're going (AI "pathfinding" heh). Dungeon Siege lacks true collision detection. Definitely not "better".
