I am not that keen to investigate the political programme of EDP, but I personally would like to mention my apperciation to the way how they are conducting their opposition peacefully is quite examplery to other parties that are dormant either within or out side the country.

The EDP and the power it has shown gives a breath of fresh air to those who badly want to see an alternative and a true opposition party. The ruling party should not see the EDP as a threat but as a partner in the developement of democracy.

For the record, my parents are from Enderta/Samre nor Eritrea. Eventhough, I have distant relatives(second and third generations) that are from Adi-quala. You know what, I'M PROUD OF MY FAMILY. No more the pressure to act amhara or be amhara. That's exactly what all of you area all about, BUNCH OF LAZY TALKERS!!!! The fact of the matter is most of you can't bring yourselves to the fact that your way of thinking and doing things is over and gone never to be back, thanks to EPRDF. When are you people going to start realizing that. When are you going to realize that parties that carry relic of the past such as EDP today and AAPO yesterday won't do you any good? Instead of arguing against equal rights for all nationalities, why don't you argue on economic policies, health-care, education, etc? Aren't these the real problems of Ethiopia???? Last ten years, despite daunting challenges, limited resources and war with Eritrea, EPRDF has successfully implemented decentralization, allowed free press and assembly, conducted two elections (the first for a country with 3000 years of history), raised education and health coverage by double-digits yearly, constructed and repaired 50% more roads, increased by three fold enrollment in higher education, etc. WHEN are you going to acknowledge that and start contributing your share on the development process rather than talk negative and scare away foreign investors? Don't you realize by doing that you are really hurting the very people you claim to represent/help? Even, Dergue didn't receive this kind of criticism. That is my disdain of all of you. All of you are lazy talkers and live far from reality. You just can't bear people in Ethiopia today can speak their language, practice their culture/heritage and conduct their own affairs locally with their language and way of liking. If you think my view of the achievements made by EPRDF in the last ten years is shallow analysis and limited vision, I would like you to tell me what was done during the Haile-selassie-Derg era, which all of you are nostalgic about. As EDP or AAPO, they arenot arcrivals of EPRDF but are just 'tebarari' parties consumed with hate and the only thing they do is fann hate. These two (and some others like them) have no agenda except to undermine the equality enshrined in the constitution which they view as the biggest threat to the country. Dr. Asrat, the late founder and leader of AAPO, said out loud to his supporters that Derg was the only regime that cared about the country!!!!!!!!!!!!! You consider these types of parties as arcrival to EPRDF??? Does it occur to you the reason they are operating as political parties is due to EPRDF led democratic reforms INTRODUCED IN THE LAST TEN YEARS??? Supporting a political party and having a firm stand nomatter what is apreciable.The one thing, which we don't apreciate is your baragge of sheer condemenation of certain sector of the population and certain ethnic groups for almost every wrong doing of the country past and present. you clearly exhibited a contradiction in your analysis:in one hand you advocate the democratic process on the other hand you negate the very idea that you are advocating by criminalising and vindicating certain parties....My dear in NEWETHIOPIA Every one has a role to play! It is not something you give or deny based on your own or anyone's criteria! Marginalization creates annymosity! Marginalization leads to stratification! We should encourage a positive engagement of all parties for the common goal i.e. for the prosperous Ethiopia & for the formation of democratic Ethiopia. Even if, it had been difficult for you to have a shift of paridgm so far, I am hereby to request you, atleast to start pondering about these issues in your forthcoming articles.

It was during the past when open and vicious condemnation of certain groups was a norm in by the ruling elite in the country, whether be it on TV, Radio, Newspaper, official speeches, etc. NOT TODAY. Those who feel marginalized are those who have lost out with the old regimes. Atleast we agree on one thing. THE PAST WAS FULL OF FAILURES AND DISASTERS. As for Marginalization, EPRDF is the first govt. that is succesfully empowering various nationalities that were neglected and made to feel ashamed of their heritage and culture. Today all nationalities are equal and some like you take this as a threat. Threat to what?...I wish I knew. I fully agree with you that every encouragement should be made for positive engagement of all political parties but how can that be possible when you have 'tebararis' like EDP and AAPO that are bent on negativism and fanning hate??? Aren't these the parties that raised objections to ppl in every localities from using their own language?? How come I never hear them arguing on education policies, economic policies, etc.? Is this a true picture or a figment of your amateurish caricature? Despite your barrage of hateful articles EPDRF acknowledged the two parties and they are operating in accordance to their constitutional right. Not agreeing on their political program is something else and despising their very existence and the cause they promote is something else, it would have been and will be helpful if you make this distinction in your articles, unless you have adopted this vague analysis to cover up your probable hidden agenda! In your kuku land anybody who doesnt conform to your believes need to be cursed to disappear from the face of the Earth. I think pondering this kind of thought shows that your out looks is a bit rusty and obsolete! You need to revamp it by entertaining the notion of inclusion and by trying to accommodate others, who come from a different angle; we live in a world of dialogue, compromise, and ratification. Maybe they've been conforming to the law lately since EPRDF has hold them responsible to every violation they made. The character assassination you call is what I call exposing the true colors of these groups which is hate-mongering. These are the parties that declared Dergue as the best thing that happened to Ethiopian Unity or belittling other ethinic group for replacing amharic with their 'backward embarrasing language', although I have to admit they have really softened up on that. It's their democratic right to call Dergue the best thing that happened to Ethiopia but not fostering hate when they cross the line and start insulting other ethnic groups especially the one they did with Oromo. THAT IS NOT DEMOCRACY. In Germany, you go to jail if you even try to have a meeting that praises the nazis let alone establishing a party that advocate Nazi policies. However, in your opinion, it's perfectly okay to fann hate and reverse the equality granted by the constitution that declares every nationality to be equal. There are other political parties such as Dr. Beyene Petros's, SLM, ONC, EDU and various others in South and South East that I don't necessarily agree but don't engage in these type of non-sense. Those are the ones you can have dialogue with and they do raise legimitate issues in Parliament. Yes, today in Ethiopia, the podium is open for any political parties, regardless of how ridicoulous their view is. It took 3000 years but it happened, THANKS TO EPRDF. I still however haven't seen any stands on real problems of Ethiopia from EDP or AAPO or YOU? How come you don't have 'solutions'? How come I don't hear you all engaging in discussion about EPRDF's economic, educational, and other policies? or you are all out there just to fann hate?
