Jeesh, There's not a shred of evidence pointing to any life outside our solar system, not one jot! First they said "THey live on Mars, there are canals on Mars" - DUMB!!! - like NO. THen "Oh well maybe they are further off and we need to contact them by radio... No reply - DUMBER!!! Then it's "Oh well maybe they are superior to us, or won't talk to us, - Yeah right.... so there has to be aliens cos Drakes equation says so eh? - And that's the friggin dumbest of the lot!!! Since when did science - good science ever create an equation with around a dozen unknowns, pick arbitrary values out of thin air, and say, "we calculate there are 100,000 other intelligent lifeforms in the universe" Laughing my arse off! Put the only REAL, confirmed, irrefutable data into drakes equation and what do you get? Number of galaxies bearing life = 1 number of solar systems bearing life = 1 number of planets with life = 1 number of intellegent species = 1 (arguable though, might be 0) Number of cimmunicable species = 1 now 1x1x1x1x1x1 = er 100,000 - NO way it's actually,,,,, wait for it..... ONE! So unless some other lifeform on earth has secretely evolved and managed to hide it from us (wouldn#t you?) then like NO UFO's!! not today, not tomorrow, in fact NEVER!!!! |

However his is a guess/estimate at the likelihood of there being alien life. To assume we are the only life form in the entire universe is a little presumptuous since we haven't got a probe to any planet outside our own solar system yet. We also have no idea how they may communicate, they may not use radio. We cannot jump to hasty conclusions and assume there is no other life simply because we haven't yet found any. Our planet is around 5 billion years old, we have been looking for ET for only the last 100 years. We have hardly started. |
