RE: String theory

Well, I for one think its a very interesting theory. It sounds very plausable and seems to make sense. But then I'm no Einstein, what do you think?

RE: String theory

Interesting, elegant and those better versed in mathematics than I am, say that Witten's clarification and reformulation of it has improved it. My problems remains; it's not testable - more philosophical than scientific.

RE: String theory

Hi GeoDen,
You have made a very good point.
The more theories stray away from the 'testable world' and enter the realm of pure theory the more philosophical the argument becomes.
The more we try to 'fine tune' theories the further they slip away.
Science originally emerged from philosophy and now seems to be retuning to it from the opposite direction.
