Thanks for your opinion on it already. **/ ====================================================== I was watching Ellen this afternoon, and I saw John Edwards on the show. He claims to be a medium to the other side. On the show he was doing his thing, and connecting people with their crossed loved ones. I really don't know what to think about this. I'm torn between believing this or not. It seems so real - him being able to connect with the other side and everything. He describes it as him being a television and the spirits are the broadcats that send their "signals" or messages to him. He continued to say that whatever broadcast is the loadest, or strongest is the one that gets through. When he did his reading to the audience he was able to connect a lady with her passed husband who came through to John Edwards and sent a message to his wife of happy birthday, and sure enough it was her birthday the next week. To me it seems very possible indeed that he has the ability to feel these voices or feelings and interpret them. It seems like there is a force still around after you die that allows for this and John Edwards is one of the few that are in touch with these forces. I'm not a believer in God, and hold very similiar beliefs to Keith, so I wrote all this to get his opinion on the subject. Do you believe that there are really such things as mediums and that there is in fact a force that still lingers around after we die? |

These guys (and girls)seem to have always been around under some guise or another and they publicise their gift amidst suggestion (or stronger) that their power mysteriously allows them to converse with "the beyond" or "the other side" or whatever they choose call it. Why exactly after all these generations of mediums/psychics etc is this still a mystery? If they do indeed have such ability, why do they seek celebrity and why can none of them demonstrate their talent under controlled conditions? Why has no one successfully claimed the James Randi million dollar prize? If they are so concerned to benefit mankind as their marketing often claims - why don't they dedicate themselves to science so that we can understand what this is all about? Autistic people can recall incredible visual detail which is beyond the rest of us - why are these people in showbusiness rather than medically categorised with exceptional abilities? The feat is often impressive - as is David Copperfield. If it makes us feel good, we can run with it without asking questions. But there again...where are the answers when you do? (Regretably!). |

If you do some research you will find that his show is edited. All of the misses are edited out. He messes up about 95% of the time. Those don't make the air. Notice, he didn't see cancellation of his show coming. |

These dimensions may be the place (for lack of a better word) we go to when we pass from the physical universe. I'm not sure these dimensions can affect one another or if "signals" can be sent across them. I can visualize the hypothetical, but to say that there are those with the ability to detect "signals" from these dimensions is hard to believe. You could almost say it would be divine it they could. |
