Big Bang

I agree with the Big Bang Theory because I do not believe that a spirit created earth in six days. Where did the spirit come from anyways? And what makes him "God"
Just my oppinion.
The earth is made up of 25 minerals. Minerals=science.
God is only a makebelieve man. & who says man should rule earth?
The only reason society believes in him is because that's what people were raised to believe. Basically it's the easy way out, instead of basing your beliefs off of something more realistic.
My beliefs are based off of the Scientic explanation of The Big Bang Theory.

It's believable that The Big Bang created life.

It made more since in my mind.
I'm just stating my opinion. If someone doesn't agree with this, there's no need to insult me on my opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appriciate it.

Spelling errors, sorry.

RE: Big Bang

there's only 25 minerals found on the earths surface.* Excuse me for that mistake.
There are a total of 2500 minerals found so far, just not all on earths surface.

To sum things up, I agree with Keiths theory.

Minerals and atoms make up earth..no spirit created earth.

RE: Big Bang

The problem with the BB Theory is that it has the same problem of coming into existence as God does. Both have either always existed or were created by some other force.
If people want to believe that the Big Bang started by itself, that's fine. If others want to believe that God created the Big Bang that's fine too.
Whatever it was that created the Big Bang would need a creator(or creation event if you prefer) that in turn would need a creator, and so on.
No matter how you look at it we can find no solution.

RE: Big Bang

True. I'm just confused on what to believe at the moment.
The world is complicated, we'll never know what created us. Even when we're dead.
Perhaps god is real..

RE: Big Bang

I think you are wrong keith, I see no reason why the big bang could not have come from what we call 'nothing' it may be that what we call 'nothing' simply does not exist, I mean there is always something, even in a vacuum there is 'time' I'm not that good at explaining things, but 'nothing' in this universe might well be something in another. If you get into the sticky loop of everything must have started from something then what happened in the real begining. Since it dont look like we will ever get back before the bigbang I'm happy to say it popped out of nothing just like I'm happy to say New Zealand exists even though I have never been there. Yeah it's probably all bollocks but at the and of the day however it started or didn't start wont make much difference to this old fart. Can't believe the number of dickheads around looking at your other subjects, I guess there's hope for me yet!

RE: Big Bang

When people deny the existence of GOD they do it based on the assumption that GOD is simply a Superior Man who has the properties of a man only with more power. It is the same as if GOD Was three dimensional and we were only two dimensional. We wouldn't be able to relate to a three dimensional being because, to us, that is an impossibility.

GOD Is not a 'Superior Man' or a 'Supreme Being'. He Is beyond our comprehension. That is why Faith is important in trusting in Him.

What amazes me is that people who don't believe in GOD have faith in science.

RE: Big Bang

That's because you can test science, pick it up, examine it and do stuff with it.

RE: Big Bang

You are exactly right, we trust science because it is something that is, in ways, tangible to us. That is why Faith is important in religion. We trust what we can't see or feel or handle. That is the very definition of faith. Wouldn't it then stand to reason that a GOD Who exists would be beyond our comprehension or He Wouldn't be GOD. A GOD Who Is beyond our comprehension can create a universe in six days with a power that is vastly superior to our understanding just as my two dimensional man would have no concept of depth.

Science says that the universes originated billions of years ago, yet not one scientist was there billions of years ago to see the big bang. Yet we trust their mathmatical calculations and suppositions as fact. There was a time when it was 'fact' that the Earth was the center of the universe.

I really love this site :-)

RE: Big Bang

It's funny that Alyssa says that it is believable that the big bang created life but it's unbelievable that a Spirit Created life. She wonders where did The Spirit Come from but she doesn't wonder where did the big bang come from.

Using her reasoning, an Intelligent Spirit Could not create life but inanimate dead matter can somehow create life.

I respect everyone's opinions but I question the logic of many of them.

In the same way many of us question the existence of God.
