It's just mind-boggling.

Think about it. You're sitting in your house, at a computer. Let's zoom out a bit. You're in United Kingdom. Zoom out more, Europe, and more still, Earth.

Well, let's keep zooming.

Eventually, you'll be at the mlky way - millions of stars and thousands of planets.

Zoom out more.

Millions of galaxies.

Zoom out more.

Millions of groups of galaxies.

Zoom out more.

There IS no end. How can that be? As linear creatures, we can't truly understand that concept.

And then look at dimensions:

An INFINITE number of INFINITE timelines and INFINITE realities, some where there IS no time.

Argh! I lie awake thinking about it.

I'd like to go into deep space someday.

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

I wouldn't! Instead I'd like to keep my family close and enjoy life to the fullest because deep thoughts like this will get you nowhere. Seriously, consider ending any thoughts that lead to a mind boggling result because there is something more important than questions that have no answers. Family, friends, pets, career, country, love, happiness - just to name a few. Lets all just remember what life is really about. If you stay up at night thinking about these deep concepts, then I fear you may neglect reality. For now on let us all remind ourselves of our loved ones and innner values each and everytime we think about deep space.

Take care.

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

Well, you may think that is a comforting way to live, but if we all did that then we would still live in caves.

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

Well maybe it's just a difference of opinions then Keith because questions that have NO ANSWERS don't appeal to me as ones that we should be worrying about. On the other hand questions that develop our way of life, such as shelter instead of caves - well that seems more like a problem with a solvable outcome. In my previous comments I meant people shouldn't be staying up all night thinking about things that are greatly bigger than them, such as "When does the universe end?"

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

Hmm.
I can't see why you have a problem with it, it is part of human nature to ponder, just as it is to write poetry, paint, sculpt or compose music. Some people may think these things as non-productive and a waste of time, but most wouldn't think that.
Pondering over how the universe came into existence is a challenge, and one many people really enjoy thinking about and discussing. I happen to think playing golf is a waste of a good walk, but respect the views of the millions that play and enjoy the game.
We are all different and have different interests.

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

I like to ponder because It gives you a wider scope of life. Rather than living in a bubble and only living what can be lived now I would rather go out there and find out what is there (oh dear my english is getting worse :P).

When I'm old and about to die I would love to go to space and get lost there, maybe get stuck down a singularity.

And he won't be going alone!
You on the other hand will still be at home in the comforting bossom of your so loving family wearing your favourite carpet slippers and cardigan, and no doubt have a nice hot cup of drinking chocolate before you retire to bed at 10.00pm.
Nothing will bother your tiny little mind other than the perplexing problem of what pajamas to wear that night.
We all hope you enjoy it.
We meantime will be zooming through the galaxy.

I don't need drugs, my life is rich and full. I love it.
I love it so much I like to think about it.
I'm sure you do to.
Regards.

Tommy Boy,
You are so sad, your mind is so tiny and your life so boring you no doubt get excited going shopping for a new pair of carpet slippers.

RE: It's just mind-boggling.

You get angry because of the deep fear to accept the present situation. You get angry because somewhere your ego has been tremendously hurt. Channel your anger Keith...and go smoke another dubie.
