The big bang had to come from somewhere!

How could it just come out of nothing even of you believe in the big bang, where did it come from?

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

I don't know what the big bang came from. But if it came from something like a God of some sort, do you think he even knows/cares about our existence?

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

He does care. He went to the trouble of sending His Son to die for us.

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

Its pretty pointless arguing that God created the universe. Some may believe that to be true but we have no evidence for it.

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

Before I even came here i just KNEW that this board would be hijacked by seriously deluded and weak-minded religious types. Religion is the comfort of the weak, who need to have a convenient answer for everything, and so box everything into a nice neat, and not forgetting incredibly controlling, package. Does any religion refer to dinosaurs? No, because the people that invented them didn't know about them. Does religion refer specifically to galaxies and other astronomical phenomena (apart from the visible stars in the night sky)? No, because humans weren't aware of them at the time religion was invented.

I suspect the truth to be more incredible than the human mind can even BEGIN to comprehend and humanity will likely be wiped out long before we even get a glimpse at any answers to the big questions. Fascinating stuff though and I must congratulate the author on truly giving me something to think about. This is what the internet should be for!

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

Obviously u guys have forgotten to apply quantum mechanics into being a support for religion. In terms of quantum mechanics, it is stated that in order for the universe to have come about, there would have had to be an OBSERVATION. which means that there had to be an intelligent lifeforce to OBSERVE the big bang. keep in mind that quantum, mechanics is the most supported area of science that is known between physists

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

i got one problem that Phil wrote bout a religion and dinosaurs, the bible, in the book of Job, chapter 40 clearly illustrates a dinosaur, if not two. read it for yourself please - second, religion is a man-made thing, yes it has many faults, do i put my salvation in christianity? NO, i put my faith, and salvation in God, whom i clearly see through science (especially the most recent discoveries) and the bible. The bible has quite a few scientific illustrations and perfectly fits with the scientific timeline of the universe, Titus chapter 1, Paul clearly states a beginning to time (the Big Bang) and the creation story timeline, althought mis-translated thru a problem of words from Hebrew to English (the hebrew word being the word yom, which indicates a beginning and end of a period of time, not a "day" as it was used in the english translation, they used that to indicate a beginning and end as best they could) - most religious people are, indeed, ignorant of what they believe in, and of science also, but please, do not insult us all.

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

So Taylor, you say there is evidence of Dinosaurs being talked about in Chapter 40 of the book of Job? I just read that and saw no such evidence. It talks about how Job is one Earth WITH many animals, but dinosaurs were gone long before man ever set foot on Earth proven by Carbon dating. God in this chapter is simply talking about other creatures that are on Earth at that time.

RE: RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

I think it came from somewhere and somewhen, both being mutable, malable. I also think it was more of a Big Bloom, rather than a Bang.
I think this way because of the natural model found on a smaller scale of a germinating seed. It does not grow like popcorn, but blooms forth naturally.

RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

religion does not repel nor compel me, spirituality intrigues me but whatever happened i know i am a part of this incredible journey and when i am released from this form that i will reunite with existance and who knows, if things are still around i may return in a few billion years. between now and then i plan to explore in this life force or the next it doesn't matter. i want to know it all...

RE: RE: The big bang had to come from somewhere!

This is for Phil:

hello there. funny isn't it how the media tends to miss out the vast science found in the Qur'an mentioned centuries before its discovery. For example, the seven skies, which relates to the seven layers of the atmosphere in the galaxy.
what astounds me is that scientists all agree that some force must have set the big bang but no one wants to say this is God.
if God did not exist, how would man be able to simply concoct the idea of such a complicated Being. i guess Phil, if I'm wrong I'll have wasted my life and I'll rot and die, not really caring.
But if you're wrong it's all over for you.
I'd rather put my faith in religion than take the risk. So if you're really so open minded I wouldn't shut my eyes to religion either.

"...I'd rather put my faith in religion than take the risk...."

So religion is just the cowards way out.
