RE: Natural Selection

So you lke the idea that we are all from the same parents with massive inbreeding that populated he world_ No wonder the human race is so screwed up lol!

RE: Natural Selection

sorry, but you may have misunderstood. I don't like the idea of Adam and Eve. I just find it fascinating that people take it as absolute truth. And I just wanted to hear the many specific problems it has from you, this may take time out of your day, and If your not willing to give your opinion thats fine. I could do my own research I know, but I enjoy hearing your take on things.

RE: RE: Natural Selection

Yes I understand. I have a problem with how the human race was created "ready made" by God through Adam & Eve. The human body today shows clear signs of evolution, the vestige of a prehensile tail, how a baby in the womb shows signs of gills. Same with animals, we can see how they have evolved. According to the bible every creature was made as we see it today, no evolution requied.
Same with the planet, God says he made it in a few days, so why make it with old fossils buried deep in the ground? None of it makes sense, as I appreciate you know, yet they are actually teaching this in American schools like it was a fact.
Words fail me, teaching relign and faith as so it were factual is wrong, just plain wrong.

RE: Natural Selection

Well they don't really teach it in American schools. They don't even mention the bible or its "theory" of creation. They just say that evolution is only a "theory" and that they are not disproving religion when they teach it and blah blah blah. They only teach creationism like that in America in private catholic or other christian schools, which a good chunk of the population attends but certainly not mainstream America. I honestly don't know why America is so deviant in its religious views compared to the rest of the modern world. Typically as countries industrial they transition from tradition religious values to secular rational ones, as we can see in most of
Western Europe. Then when they go through post-industrialization typically its people transition from survival to self-expression values. Studying this at the University of Michigan, its clear that the United States is in the predicted area of self-expression values among its people but lean way more towards traditional religious values, especially among older generations. Somehow this has to do with our American culture but I hope to god-not literally lol-that we catch up with the rest of the modern world and emancipate ourselves from religion. It severly limits our capabilities to grow, evolve, and enjoy the true meaning of life. I just might have to move across the Atlantic to escape all the religious BS!

RE: Natural Selection

Thanks, like I said in the topic on God, the majority of my Catholic school believes the story of Adam and Eve to be true. Simply because they were told it was. It's incredible how much of a brainwashing mechanism catholcism and chrsitianity really is. Isn't there signs of evolution in humans today. Like unnecessary things like fingernails, body hair, and toes. If you think about it, these things serve no purpose, so why would God provide them. Also, isn't their something about the human spine that suggests we were once hunched over like apes. Thats what my history teacher told us. It's interesting that in my Catholic School, my history teacher taught evolution through natural selection. But in religion class, my teacher taught the story of Adam and Eve. They both can't be true lol.

Kevin.
DonĀ“t think that by crossing the Atlantic you will be able to escape all the religious BS! We have it here just as bad, a constant "war" between Catholics,Protestants, etc. etc. etc.
There is no escape.

RE: Natural Selection

I see I'm somewhat late but just a small addition ...

There is a research about "genetic" Adam. A man whose genome we all share. If I am not wrong, he is 60000 years old and his origin is east Africa or some island around. He was black :) and probably small person, maybe somekind of a tribe leader so there were many Eva's :))
