Something from Nothing

While it is commonly accepted that the universe started its' outward expansion with the occurance of the "Big Bang", where did the matter originate that was dispersed? Have a hard time with the "something from nothing" scenario.

So does everyone else.

RE: Something from Nothing

no... as nothing contains everything in potentia, it is already infinite, as infinite is nothing, (i explain my theory on a different thread), so it is perfectly plausable that the universe started from nothing, so i dont have a problem with it

"as nothing contains everything in potentia..."
Using my definition of nothing - it cannot contain anything - then what you have described cannot be nothing as it contains 'potentia' whatever that is. Note the word you used 'contains'.
You defeat your own argument do you not?

RE: Something from Nothing

While you sit puzzled over the '"something from nothing" scenario', I sit content with the fact that infinite is real. I sit content with the answer of the '"something from nothing" scenario'. As I have said; time must be infinite, otherwise where did it begin? I have said the same for matter, and energy. Why do you argue with no proof? The explaination: 'a deity' as you say: God.

Why do,more so how can, you argue? You (this is aleph-umptyplex, I don't know about you Keith)merely say 'it is perfectly plausable that the universe started from nothing'. That is absolutely the most unscientific statement I have ever seen on this site! You (Keith) have not stated your response to that, but I'm sure you either have no answer, or you agree(agreed, you would not now that I have stated it has no scientific proof, unless you already disagreed for this reason...).

Basically, you have no answer to the '"something from nothing" scenario', which I, and every other Christian does. You cannot have an answer.

BTW, I wouldn't be too surprised if you did not reply, for what could you say. Also, I have read almost everything on the site; I know you read this Keith.

RE: RE: Something from Nothing

When did time begin? Simple, with the Big Bang.
Something from nothing? You are happy to believe that God was created from nothing, or always existed, so why not the same for the universe? You cannot have one rule for one and a different one for another.

RE: Something from Nothing

Ha ha! You except that(I'm extremely surprised you except something infinitely existing backwards)! The funny thing: religion said it first, had the answers first, and, historically, existed first(in comparison to the theory of evolution). I wonder why it existed first? lol

RE: Something from Nothing

Does this mean I have finally convinced you that infinite is real? Or are you simply stating that because there is not much else to say?

RE: Something from Nothing

I have no idea why you said that or what you are on about. Furthermore I donĀ“t want to know, you talk garbage.

RE: Something from Nothing

How could time begin with the Big Bang if for the Big Bang to exist there must have been time! It itself couldn't have just started! What did it start from? I will repeat myself; time is infinite. If you believe in Creation or the Big Bang it MUST have been infinite. There is no denying that for something to HAPPEN, there has to be time!

Forgive me, I do not want to be rude. I simply get caught up in myself in annoyance of how many times I have rephrased the same thing. At the same time you must feel the same way if you have been doing this for 7+ years!(that's as far back as the topics go, but in that topic it refers to having previous discussions)
