There's no free will

There is no free will as all the decisions are made by
the subconscious mind (sm) and the conscious mind (cm)detects them and makes them actual in the material world.
Thus, the cm is the decision detector but the actual choice is made in the depth of the sm which is out of our control at the moment we are making the choice.
Nowadays researches in this field have shown that in reality the sm makes a decision 7 seconds before the cm detects it and performs.
What variant of action we choose depends on the light of our attention operated by the sm.For example, that is why one forgets something - because one's attention is distracted for a moment or some period of time and it doesn't depend on us.The cm can be compared with waves on the surface of an ocean while all its life is under the surface in its depth.
Thus,it is the subconscious mind what makes the final decision. The conscious mind is nothing but a performer.

RE: There's no free will

if a person is a free thinker and under no pressures, won't their subconcious mind be free to act on impulse and therefore make a clear decision

RE: There's no free will

What about decisions we take in fraction of second? Like humping out of the way of a speeding car? That decision can not be taken by our sm 7 seconds before?

RE: There's no free will

There was an interesting BBC documentary on this subject a while ago and it's greatly troubled me ever since! I feel a bit like an interactive veneer.

There’s a sentence you don’t get to use very often.

Just found this article which seems very relevant:
