Nothing will change until we are broke!

Even if Baseball strikes, the fans will still return. Why? Because, the REAL fans are Fanatics, hense the word FAN. And a Fanatic never listens to common sense.

To a "real" fan, the idea of being the slightest bit critical of "the system" is as foreign as Benedick Arnold reciting the Pledge of Allegance, or the Pope favoring Abortion.

To a "true fan" such talk of "fan strikes" are Heresay!

Baseball knows this. And deep down, we know this too. So, as long as there are "devoted fans" who have more money than brains, we will see the stadiums fill. The per-capita income of the attendees will be higher, but they will come.

MLB has already shown its true colors when one looks at a Stadium Seating chart. Corporate Sponsorships are not just limited to the Luxury Boxes. Take a look at the charter seat licenses one must pay for tickets anywhere on the first level between 1st and 3rd. It's obvious that these seats are mainly filled by people less interested in the game and more interested in who will be paying for the drinks afterwords.

But one thing is certain, MLB has never been accused of caring for it's fans. But then again, Tobacco Companies have never cared for their customers either.

Nope, Baseball will continue it's self destructive ways until, like some twisted Little Rascals Vaudville act, the players themselves, are the only ones able to afford to attend the games.

Man, you are so right! Baseball fans will always rebound from any indignations the sport would heap upon us. We will flock to the stadiums even if we were forced to wear blindfolds and someone would describe the plays to us. We are so used to being "taken in" that we would miss eing fleeced in baseball's absence.
When baseball says "JUMP". We ask, HOW HIGH !

This is all true but now you have to go back and think..."How many FANS does baseball have?" Not many. Everyone I know is ready to jump ship and there's nothing anyone can do. Even talks of a strike are turning me away from baseball. I'm not trying to tell people how to do their jobs or offer solutions. All I know is that if there is a strike, baseball will die! And I hope it does, it'll make room for better, more exciting sports!

Let us face it! All the fans that now say they will never go back to baseball if there is a strike are "full of it". What can take its place ful time? Fans don't think before they speak

-George- I am sorry that you feel this way. You are right, fans don't think before they speak. I do though, so I guess I'm not a fan. Something that everyone needs to realize is...baseball sucks. How much fun is it to watch grown men acting like crybabies? You might enjoy it but I sure don't! I have one huge problem with all of this and I don't know why nobody else can see it. All of you "true fans" out there are being played. You are a bunch of suckers! This is what they want to happen. Now, they are saying there might not be a strike, but I don't give a ****! I'm done with baseball and anyone else who can think for themselves, should be done too! I don't know if you guys watch anything on TV other than baseball, but if you do, you might want to check out this game called Slam-Ball. The players don't get millions but they show up and they play. And it's a hell of a lot more interesting than that "national pastime" crap! Baseball is dead, any way you look at it!

RE: Nothing will change until we are broke!

Well said..I agree for the most part. Unfortunately, it seems that Corporate America is the biggest FAN, and will be unaffected by this strike..it will still buy tickets, because it gives them away to people in return for other favors. In all honesty, I haven't paid for many tickets in my lifetime, they have been gifted to me...but I can guarantee that I will never pay for a ticket now...and will turn down the gifted ones.

Is it irony? Sports that have a Salary Cap don't go on strike? I don't think so.
