My Running Injury

I've been running for 25 years. TWO months ago I sprained my ankle. ( I know, I feel dumb! ) I took a day off and started running again. My foot turned black and the pain went from the top af my ankle all around my foot over the weeks. Really didn't bother me. Lately however the pained has seemed to anchor in my achilles. This scares me a bit. Right now I can run through it but at the end of the day my achilles is really sore. Any suggestions on dealing with this?

RE: My Running Injury

bud, don't run on it!!! My first couple of years of running, I got ankle sprains every three months. Physical therapy exercises helped, but it doesn't help when its still swollen and injuryed. swim, bike, get ready for a triathlon for a couple of weeks, then run--no speed work for a month--then try standing on the foot by itself. Then bounce a tennis ball when you're doing that. Then try doing those thing with your eyes closed--they really helped me--good luck!!
