I have pain on the outer side of my foor, I don't think it's a heel spur b/c it's on the side. I am running the NYC Marathon (4 wks!) & I can barely walk on my foot, any ideas would be great!! thanks. |
| Posted By: Anne Posted On: Oct 22, 2003 Views: 2102 | RE: pain--side of foot ?? could be plantar fasciitis. i was diagnosed with it when i had pain through the outstep of my foot. as for the marathon, i ran one on my plantar faciitis foot, and it was an incredibly painful experience. i then had physical therapy for three months. that was a few years ago, and i still get occasional flare-ups. you're just going to have to decide whether it's worth it to run the marathon, or if you'd rather heal first and try again another time. |

It could come from inverting your foot, twisting it, and you might also have a mild ankle sprain which could result in there being tenderness at the "anterior talo-fibular ligament" in front of your ankle. Your podiatrist can examine this area. |
