I can understand that it is a very hard game which seems as though it belongs on the Sega Genesis, not on the Sony Playstation, but it cannot be completely bad. I like the Shining Force-style graphics, even if they are out of place in 1996, and the Sakuraba Motoi (Star Ocean: The Second Story and Tales of Destiny) soundtrack, while primitive, is not that bad. The battles are murderous, and the puzzles are painful, but a little challenge goes a long way. Whatever its faults, I only paid $8 for Beyond the Beyond, and, for that amount, it is not a bad game. Besides, the same developers made Golden Sun. There is such a thing as redemption in gaming. |
