Alright, so a popularity poll isn't the same as respect, but I've always felt bad for Charles in a way. Even more so than the Queen. He really has no lasting legacy right now if he were to die and if he ever gets to be King, he'll be really up in age. Although not my favorite, I like him OK. Who agrees? |

I definitely think that Charles deserves a little more than two percent, but let's face it; most people who respond to popularity polls are the type who want a cultural icon. They pick someone cute, young and popular, like William. I do NOT think, however, that Charles deserves a HUGE amount of respect. British citizens should respect him as the rightful heir to the throne, but as far as honorable character goes, there isn't much to admire. |

But for someone in his position, he needs to wake up to the fact that he's just doing a replay of history, being immoral and going against his mother's wishes like almost every Prince of Wales in the past. THEY were never immensely popular; no wonder that Prince Charles isn't either. |

I'll grant Charles one thing...he's more intelligent than a great deal of royals ever were. Another thing I believe he deserves more credit for is his love for his sons. The press loves to make Charles out as the evil, cheating husband who doesn't love his children (somebody has to be the villan, right?), and although he did cheat on his wife (well, she cheated on him too), I think he really does love Wills and Harry. Some things I've heard about him as a father have been rather favorable. Anyway, these are are just a few of my comments. Happy 'month and four days' til Valentine's Day, everyone! (-:~Adelle |
