classic works of literature

How come no one reads any of the classic writers? Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Emily Dickinson, Charles Dickens, Sir Walter Scott, Lord Alfred Tennyson, and Edgar Allen Poe?

I feel your pain. But keep in mind that many people still do read classic works of literature. I attend a school where many people still read and enjoy classics. Jane Austen happens to be one of my favorite writers. I also love Tolstoy, Dickens, Poe, and many, many others.

I read A Tale of Two Cities and Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. They work, is all good and everythin', but they too wordy. Just get to the damn point already. I like them, but they need to stop writin' so much.
