The mailman just dekivered mail to me. Wow!! Here's a lettter from a relative. "CAN NOT USE THESE YANKEE TICKETS FOR NEXT FRIDAY'S GAME. PLEASE USE THEM! Oh baby!!! I'M GOING..... |
| Posted By: Antone Posted On: Sep 3, 2002 Views: 201 | RE: No more baseball for me Then you are a loser. You can't even make up your own mind. You wishy-washy punk. You and MLB deserve each other. Go ahead and give these millionaires more of your money. After all, they have huge contracts to fulfill and they can't do it alone. And they are going to get even bigger so you might want to pay a little extra the next time you BUY tickets and merchandise. I know you will. You just admitted you have NO WILL POWER. Have fun. Loser. |
| Posted By: Met Fan Posted On: Sep 4, 2002 Views: 188 | RE: No more baseball for me Maybe it's because I'm a frustrated Met Fan, but I really don't care anymore. Strike or no strike, I have lost interest. With all the econmic uncertainity in the real world, I find baseball and their little fraternity annoying. Maybe in a few years, I'll be back, but for now I'm ready for some football. |

| Posted By: Football Season Soon Posted On: Sep 4, 2002 Views: 182 | RE: No more baseball for me Well, I used to hate football, but it looks like it is making a comeback. At least their Player's Association was smart enough not to pull the same crap on their fans more than once. They have a salery Cap and competetive balance. I mean, my God, the Oiler er Titans made it to a Super Bowl. Something, while I lived in Houston, thought would never happen. Baseball Trustbuster |
| Posted By: Antone Posted On: Sep 4, 2002 Views: 178 | RE: No more baseball for me Hey Frankie, Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk right back atcha. I don't really care. It's just funny to me that so many people don't care about how much it costs to go to a professional game. Especially when you're not getting the same quality of play. MLB players are going the opposite direction of other pro sport athletes. Baseball players look like they are getting bigger and stronger, but in fact they must be getting weaker... Pitchers of old used to go 9, 10, 11 innings before they even started to complain. Players used to not miss games to get a day of rest... (that cracks me up) A day of rest? Let them do my job and we'll see who needs a day of rest. Golfers are in better shape than baseball players. Now that is a joke. But it's true. I'm out. Gotta go play some golf... |
| Posted By: mikey Posted On: Sep 4, 2002 Views: 172 | RE: No more baseball for me you know i used to watch baseball and love going to games however americas past time is no longer here the players have changed all the ethics behind the game and theres no passion any longer. however sept 5th we embark on a new pastime. Football has taken over and this has begun my new pastime. baseball will never intrigue me the same way that it did when i was a kid and daddy took me to wrigley those were the days. Go bears!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Posted By: George Posted On: Sep 6, 2002 Views: 164 | RE: No more baseball for me Well, here's just how it stands! We've got baseball on our hands! We always be in love with it!! Admit it!! I have tried to give it up when Bucky Showalter was fired, and when they struck in '94. BUT, I am going to Yankee Stadium tonight with my son and his family and do you know what? I probably will get the kids shirts, balls, etc. because that is all part of the game. One cannot go to a game every week. Only once a season. That is way it is so get used to it. |
| Posted By: Antone Posted On: Sep 6, 2002 Views: 160 | RE: No more baseball for me Well dude, I'm happy for you. I lost interest in 1994 and have never felt the need to come back. I have seen a few parts of a few games since 1994, but not one complete one. I haven't felt like i missed anything either. I took up golf and haven't looked back. I've glanced, but it never held my interest anymore. I'm not coming back now. I really don't have the desire to be messed with anymore. This strike threat was rediculous. And to those who still love baseball, have fun at the ballgame. I'll be on the golf course enjoying my 4 hours of peace. We have plenty of other sports to watch without baseball. Plus I enjoy playing sports rather than just watching them... |
| Posted By: baseball trustbuster Posted On: Sep 6, 2002 Views: 157 | RE: No more baseball for me Oh to be able to play Golf. Back back won't let me. I have decided to go with Football because their Players' Association was smart enough not to do the their fans what baseball has done to theirs and not show them any respect. I mean I saw on TV where some fan through back a baseball from center field and the cops were dragging him away. NICE PR move Baseball. Start throwing your fans in the slammer for doing what they have done in Chicago for years. Baseball Trustbuster |

| Posted By: George Posted On: Sep 7, 2002 Views: 150 | baseball trustbuster : No more baseball for me What the heck are you talking about? |
| Posted By: frankie Posted On: Sep 7, 2002 Views: 147 | RE: No more baseball for me Hi Antone.. You, as others, have a cause to feel that way about baseball. It's actions irritate me also at times. BUT, Let us not leave out the other money-sucking bits of entertainment. What did you pay for a b'way show? How about a rock concert? Biggest rip off of all. Gone to the movies lately? Took a cab ride? Sure cost of living has gone up, but come on!! I guess that we can't spread the hate around too much because we would not enjoy anything.. |
| Posted By: baseball trustbuster Posted On: Sep 8, 2002 Views: 141 | RE: No more baseball for me George read all my posts and you will know what i am talking about. Not just my last one where I corrected a spelling mistake. If you read everything I wrote, you would have the gist of my argument. Antone, Thankfully, I live in a small country town now and going to the movies only cost $2.50. $3.00 for special engagements like Harry Potter. Matinee is only $1.75. I don't go to operas or concerts. They are a big rip off. Baseball Trustbuster |
| Posted By: Antone Posted On: Sep 19, 2002 Views: 133 | RE: No more baseball for me Frankie, Well, I don't go to the movies except once a year, if that much. Rip off. Concerts? No, don't go to those either anymore. B'way shows? In Houston? Don't know of any. Sure a lot of things are a rip off. I don't like to be ripped off by anybody. I'm sure most people don't. But the key is having a choice. I choose not to support MLB in any way. I don't go to any pro sporting events. I'd rather see it at home in peace. I don't like $7 beers. $3.50 hot dogs. $4 cokes. $10 to park. $2 for a bag of chips. It's just rediculous. At home I can get a 6 pack of beer, a pack of hot dogs and chips for less than one beer at the stadium. So logically, I would rather be in my own living room enjoying the games. But overall, I have lost interest in baseball due to the crying of the millionaires that want more money. It's even more rediculous than me not wanting to support them. Why should I when they have you? You are willing to make sure their lifestyle doesn't suffer in anyway, so I can rest easy knowing that you support them and they won't go hungry. Thanx Frankie, I can now sleep in peace... |
