| Posted By: Lincoln Posted On: Jan 21, 2003 Views: 781 | Not as bad as some think Sure Tennessee had a rough year, but with good reason. Tennessee is a very young team. This year was a chance for all of our young recievers and running backs to get a feel for the game. It's not easy to win when you have to rely on sophmores to be all stars. It also doesn't help when your top reciever (Kelly Washington) turns out to be a "pansy." Also, look at Randy Sanders, he was great at calling stupid plays. Third and long, run a draw or throw a five yard swing pass. Defenses knew what was coming on almost every play. And speaking of defenses, Tennessee's was ranked 7th overall in the nation. I guarantee a lot less points would have been scored by the opposition, had the offense not gone three and out every series;and if the defense would have had better field position to work with. Last time Tennesse had a year like this one, the came back and fell short of the Rose Bowl(National Championship)by one game. So be a true Big Orange fan and don't say Tennessee is on the decline. |
