Has everyone forgotten the year before last even though we did not win any titles we were one game away from national championship game and the whole team not just casey did not show up in LSU game. On the other hand can tennessee win a championship in spite of randy sanders im not sure |

It is not all about spped at the QB position if you have a good head on your shoulders you can be a good QB. I would take him over any QB in the SEC and just about any QB in the nation he is just that good. If he only had someone to throw it to you all would see how good he really is. Clausen is a mediocre QB with little chance of bringing Tenn. back to the big game. Hopefully we will be able to recruit a stronger, faster and more able passer in order to get back on top. But I like a good scrambling style QB like Banks, with some help on his decision making, i think he could be as good, if not better than Tee Martin. He seems to have the abilities, if only he could harness them. |

He seems to make smart descisions with the ball if he has someone to throw to. He plays through pain and will give his all for UT. |

If you want to be like Virginia Tech get a guy like Michael Vick who needs to be a reciever or a tailback. Sure he might be mobile, but he can't prduce consistancy when it comes to passing. Tennessee has a guy like that named james banks, and he is playing at reciever and tied for the back up roll at QB with CJ Leak. I think that Banks will flop and be another Leonard Scott someone who can't master any position so they use him as a decoy because he's fast. Clausen is a good passer and that's what you need to win a championship, not someone who is going to be a ball hog and run around showboating like Washington did last year and like Vick did at Va tech. Tennessee has two brand new freshman QB's and I hear only good things about them. I think that after Clausen is gone you will see one of those two guys win the starting roll and Banks will be a reciever or kick returner or something. But guess what both of those young QB's are not fast and agile runners they are of the strong armed, drop back in the pocket, and roll with the pocket type of QB's. Clausen was breaking Peyton Mannings records left and right until last season when he had all of his go to guys removed. Washington stayed injured, stallworth was gone, for some reason sanders liked to ignore witten, and Bobby Graham who was always in the right place with a good set of hands was also gone. He didn't have many passing options last season. Plus the running game ws really bad so if he can find some guys to throw to and the running game gets going he will do fine and can lead to the Championship game. |
