After a series of tests and scans my oncologist requested I come to the hospital to “discuss my options”. After many years of being kept under control my cancer has now grown resistant to my medication and has returned very strongly. The plan is to put me on a much stronger steroid to see if that helps. After two months if no improvement, and they don’t expect any to be truthful, they will put me on 6 months of monthly injections of radium. After that all that is left is chemotherapy which would be given over a period of 6 weeks. After that…that’s it, end of the road. So it looks as though I have about 10 months to a year remaining. Time will tell. I can’t complain, I am after all now 76 years old and was diagnosed with this cancer, Advanced Prostate Cancer, 13 years ago back in January 2009 and given 6 months. I will keep posting every now again as long as I am able for the few who maybe interested. I wish you all good health. |
