That's right no sword-slinging human, though he does dabble in sorcery and eventually will get ahold of a gun or two... Oh and spears are awesome, sure some say "I can slice through the wood and knock off your spearhead" but then you can just use it as a staff, and minthril spears are just as light and don't have that problem. I for some odd reason am partial to staves, but spears can be used as a staff with the added benifit the using the point to skewer your opponent when the oppertunity arrises (just make sure it's balanced somehow). Bows are a fun weapon, but most people want thier main character to engauge the enemy in hand-to-hand combat. Axes have great power but lack the elegance and versitality of the sword (usually). Now Zelda gives you enough backup weapons that you can fight without a sword, and Secret of Mana offers you a wide variety of weapons to choose from (though admitedly they start you off with a sword). Of course their are many more weapons, or you could be the monk and be the ultimate in unarmed combat. |
