| Posted By: Sally Akeroyd Posted On: Dec 4, 2003 Views: 461 | X-rays Don't you feel this poll is very ambigous and suggestive. I am studing to be a diagnostic radiographer in the UK. Yes X-rays do increase the risk of cancer, but it it is a very small risk. The reasons for getting cancer are very complex and as 1 in 3 people will get it at some point in there lives anyway you cannot say one way or another what caused it. Also techniques to reduce dose are being devloped all the time and in the case of scoliosis the benifit of the information outweighs the small risk of the x-ray "causing cancer" |
