Compensating Salespeople

Does anyone classify there salespeople as nonexempt employees? If so, how do you go about paying them when they are traveling? Are they also paid a commission?

If they are internal sales people, they are non-exempt. When they are traveling we pay them for the hours traveling and hours actually working.
