At least like that, they are seen to be being open and honest, currently the silence is not only deafening, its very worrying, coz it gives the fans/owners the impression that lessons have not been learnt, everyone who gives their time for free do a fantastic job for us, but they need to be a little more forthcoming, issues shouldn't have to get out of hand(debated on guestbooks based on rumours) b4 the club tells us whats going on, the clock is ticking, nerves are fraying and i dare say mistrust is seeping in to many, put an end to rumours now, give us the facts and let us decide where our club plays and how our money is spent, this should have happened already by choice, not after theres already a large split in opinion. |
| Posted By: mu10 Posted On: Jan 12, 2003 Views: 478 | RE: t&m or k's T&M or K's are equally as good, but if we are to stay at K's I understand we need a three year deal to fulfil promotion criteria. As Brentford appear to have an option to take up a share at K's, which means I don't think we can get such a three-year deal in place. So looks like T&M needs to happen. As T&M took years getting permission for their new ground, I think the negotiations needed to happen without publicity otherwise local NIMBY's would be on the case - that could still scupper the deal btw. There may be a real danger we cant get a deal on either T&M or K's, which could mean we have a promotion problem off the pitch as well as on it. If T&M is the better bet we must go for it. |

If we can prove to the RL that there will be, say, one of two suitable grounds guaranteed available for 3 years, perhaps that would be in line with their rules. (And if not - we can demand a 3-man FA Commission, ha ha ha) |

Drain finances that should be reserved for our own stadium (the grants are *not* finalised, and the alternative is we pay) 3. Give Merton Council a stick marked "you're *already* back in Merton" to beat us with 4. Lose us public support in Merton through parking and public transport (the trams from Wibledon to Ikea/Croydon are already well used on Saturdays) problems 5. May not be necessary anyway If we do need a backup plan for K's there *must* be grounds we could share that are within reasonable distance that don't throw up these issues - Sutton perhaps? |
| Posted By: anniebabe Posted On: Jan 13, 2003 Views: 391 | RE: t&m or k's I think it's important before we start throwing our toys out of the pram over this issue, that we remember that the people who are running this cub on our behalf are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts and with little or no previous experience. Talking of mistrust and silence doesn't help. Unless you are ready to get up there and do the job yourself, by all means put forward your point of view but please don't start dissing the good people who are ,no doubt, doing their best to run this club for us. It is important that we do not develop the same mistrust that we had with the Franchise management but that is as much our our responibility as theirs. This is a community project and it is best that the correct decision is made for the community and the future of this club and that will only happen if we work together. Starting to bad mouth the management because of our own feelings of insecurity can only be counter-productive and it seriously ****es off those of us who still think that AFCW and everything to do with it is wonderful and if it weren't would soon lose the will to live cos the rest of our life is crap!!! Give us a break mate. |
