| Posted By: Nicole Posted On: Jan 13, 2003 Views: 462 | RE: Poll credibility True, but that's the same as most internet polls, but they are popular since they give some clues. For example, I think it's safe to say from this that nearly everyone wants us to have our own ground. And same as any other internet poll, I don't think anyone will take the results as gospel. I'm personally not bothered about it being open to all fans, not just WISA members. |

| Posted By: Ronan Posted On: Jan 13, 2003 Views: 451 | RE: Poll credibility I left it open to multiple votes as many people share machines (we want all family members to vote). We all know online polls are open to abuse - nobody is going to give this the same credibility as an ICM poll for example - but it does give us an idea of how other people feel, - for example we know more people would like to see facts and figures than voted they think we should stay at K's forever. |
| Posted By: Paul Ellis Posted On: Jan 13, 2003 Views: 408 | RE: Poll credibility I'm not a member of WISA and may be guilty of singing '**** ground, no fans' in the past (as a lifelong OUFC supporter) but contributed to the Dons Trust appeal for the new ground and have found myself following the live text updates! What's going on? I'm either terminally sad or just glad that at last one set of fans have set themselves against the cynicism that has pervaded our game for too long. (Or additionally that we reside in a half built ground without a proper club shop and are tenants of a rich owner probably more interested in the multiplex than the team). AFC are probably most fans second team now. So I hope you guys don't mind me offering an opinion that a move to T&M is at least back in Merton at a modern ground with no uncertainty and sets you up for the next stage of your development. And I look forward in not many years time to OUFC playing AFC back at least in Div 1 and not minding too much about the result! |
| Posted By: Peachey Posted On: Jan 15, 2003 Views: 348 | RE: Poll credibility paul - thanks, really, and i speak to you as someone who in the past and even now if im being honest, hates oxford fans, but thats generalising too much and i know there are idiots in every club, its just that i myself havent come across trouble too often, so when i do it has an effect, rochdale being the only other club i hate for these reasons, but i acknowledge you arent 1 of the neanderthals and we do appreciate your support. there is a wider issue here, its all well and good saying at least its in merton, but its not our ground in merton, which is what we want, to me personally, it doesnt matter if we share in or out of merton i never planned to go back there til we were going to our own home anyway, and theres a fear that once back there, the campaign for our own ground will suffer, we can no longer use the, get us back to merton campaign as we have done. but wherever we play(and that will be decided in the near future and wherever that is, we'll all go) its good to know we have the support of the wider football public, we hope it stops the oxfords, rochdales and foolhams(hopefully not too late for these either, even tho they do make up my trio of hated teams) from suffering the same fate, it will only take 1 club to do it successfully, to convince many other rouge owners of football clubs, looking for a similar property deal to do the same, its all football fans duty to protect eachother from these people and although its too late for us, hopefully we can spread the message wide enough to stop it happening again, and having good people like yourself on board can only help. thanks again. |

Again, I hope an electronic vote will be available as it is highly unlikely all 2500 owners will be present!! |
