That game above all others had such a great story, I would love to see a sequel, even if it had to have the 16-bit graphics of the original. |

I, for one, would love to see it, as FFVI was my favorite FF, my favorite RPG, and my favorite game of all time. However, it would be difficult to make a follow up due to the overwhelming amount of closure it provided. A gaiden or spinoff game focusing on one of many unsolved mysteries (i.e. [mild spoiler warning] what happened to Daryl or Baram or the Returners, more on Shadow's past, etc.) a la Chrono Cross might be more feasible, but I don't think anyone wants to see another CC touted as a direct sequel to one of the most beloved RPGs of all time. However, I'm sure that Square could indeed pull off a direct sequel to FF6, and they probably will if the trend of direct sequels set by X-2 and possibly VII-2 is successful enough. |

You see, this FFVI: A Forgotten Story is a prequel, not a sequel. Many people often fail to see the difference. Furthermore, since it is not actually made by Square, many people will simply pass it over. If it's ever completed, I, for one, would be more than happy to give it a shot. However, it will still not satisfy my longing for a true sequel. |

This was released way back before the N64 was out and involved a bunch of 3D FF6 characters. However, Square's relationship with Nintendo soured after that and it never got released.
