High Fall and starting to see more injured

Hi i'm actually writing this on behalf of my father. I don't even know if i'm asking the right thing but i'm giving it a shot. My dad was working on a job, doing construction and he fell off a ladder that collapsed, about 10ft high, as he was coming down it. He was in the Emerggency room for around 7hrs and found that he didn't break anything. He is having horrible chest pains, figuring he did fall on the front side of him. His ankle is really swollen now, im guessing he just sprained that. Although my question is on that same leg where it's Very Swollen, about a couple inches above that where his shins are is numb. He can't feel anything if you are touching it softly but can if you press a little harder. does this sound like it could be nerve damage or could it be blood clots? I'm just curious, i don't know if there about a million different things it could be but i figured might as well ask it.
