Different, maybe, which I can understand some people would enjoy, but that is neither better nor worse than any other ending. My only complaint is that it was unexpected; since I play games to enjoy it when the good guys win, I don't want to play ones were part of their victory is taken away or rendered meaningless. A little warning next time.

I also don't take much stock in superfically cliched stories unless the execution is good (Most of then aren't). So, when determining whether or not I liked a story, I have to decide whether or not it was original, or if it surprised me. I think this did a good job of being original. Good endings are good for me, but bad endings can be as well.
